There are few places in the world where nature radiates such overwhelming magic as it does out here with us, surrounded by the vastness of the endless savannah, in the warm light of the setting sun, and framed by silence and peace. More and more guests enjoy this special atmosphere for a few hours and immerse themselves, all alone, together with the ranger, in an experience and celebrate the special moment, a specific event, love, or life.
Not surprisingly, the "Private Celebration in the bush" is enjoying increasing popularity. More and more guests are booking it as an "add-on activity" to the usual safari program, as the icing on the cake.
"Our guests have very diverse reasons for this special experience," says Kyla, Rhulani's front of house employee, who - with a lot of creativity and love - sets up the place in the open savannah where the guests will arrive during the private afternoon safari when the sun slowly sets on the horizon.
"We often see the usual motivations, such as celebrating a wedding anniversary, a special moment for the honeymoon, or renewing vows”, says Kyla. “However, it can also be that the couple, or even a family or friends traveling together, want to give a special affirmation of their love and friendship.”
"As soon as the guests get off the safari vehicle they are immediately captivated by the magic, are overwhelmed and wish that the sun would continue to shine on the horizon for a long time and that this moment would never end."
Tom-Hendrik Basson, Rhulani's lodge manager
In addition to privacy, guests can expect a fine snack with drinks and champagne for the celebration. The uniqueness and beauty of the scenery is complemented by the excitement of being in the middle of Africa's animal kingdom, where completely unexpected visitors could show up.
Rhulani's manager Tom-Hendrik says that a very trusting black-backed jackal recently joined the event and probably wanted to grab a bite from the buffet. Of course, the celebration will take place on the open plain in order to have a good view and thus ensure safety at all times.
Tom Hendrik: “Safety is definitely not an issue, and certainly not in the minds of our guests, who as soon as they get off the safari vehicle are immediately captivated by the magic, are overwhelmed and wish that the sun would continue to shine on the horizon for a long time and that this moment would never end.”
