- News, Accommodation

In the solemn annual ceremony of "World Luxury Hotel Awards", celebrated on 6 December 2014 at "The Bay Hotel" in Cape Town, Rhulani Safari Lodge was awarded the winner in the "Best Bush Lodge" category globally. This is Rhulani’s second award for 2015.

Makeup is applied and the tuxedo and bow tie fits perfectly. A welcome with two chilled Rosé Champagne and a beautiful sunset over Camps Bay. Rhulani's owners Marisa and Rolf did not have to think long before accepting the tempting invitation.

However, it was more than just a gala event. "We had received the exciting news prior to the event that we will get an award that night," says Rolf. Thus, the long journey from Brazil was easy to put away. All of this contributed to the great tension as the doors opened to the elegant ballroom. For most top quality hotels, World Luxury Hotel Awards has the reputation of the “Oscar”.

For numerous guests, their patience had to be put to the test. A delicious 5-course meal and a spectacular shows filled the evening program until almost midnight. Then, the great moment finally arrived. First the "Country-" and then the "Continental-” winners were asked to come on stage to receive their trophies, but Rhulani’s name was not yet mentioned. "It was strange, I thought that maybe they had forgotten us", says Marisa.

In the end it turned out better, much better! The announcement was made almost at the very end: "Rhulani Safari Lodge: Global Winner as Best Bush Lodge". Rolf struggled to find words: “We are absolutely speechless and have no idea how that success was at all possible on our first nomination”.

A big “Thank you” goes out to all Rhulani guests, fans and friends who have voted for Rhulani, and by which an incredible number of votes ware convened, but a special thanks goes to the fantastic staff of Rhulani that goes the extra mile every day to make our guests feel like royalty and made the nomination for this award possible.

With great joy and motivation Rhulani is now facing the busy year-end time. Within a short time we already have our second trophy. Rolf says: "We will now buy a vitrine that has room for our trophies, and for some more in the future".
