Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
Today's blog from Rolf is short and sweet. A male lion roars at full volume right next to the vehicle. This moment, when everything around trembles, is simply magical. It's amazing how close you can be to this bush concert.
An injured lion still wants to roar.
Lions use roaring as a sign of strength and to mark their own territory, and they also use it to make contact with the rest of the lion pride, as is the case today.
The male lion has moved a little away from the female and laid down nicely in the shade of our vehicle. Before the roar, we had already heard the female, who was resting not far from here, calling as well.
Stay tuned for the next episode on 23 March, when we clean the fishpond at the entrance.
