Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
Today there is another chapter related to Rhulani's solar system, which has been providing power for the entire lodge operation for some time now. Together with Blockpower's Director Kyle Bohnsack, we are standing in the battery room and taking a look at the control board, where we can see all the current information about the system in a nutshell.
On this small screen we can see in particular how much power is currently being produced by the solar panels, and how much power is being consumed by our guests and the staff at the same time. Today is a sunny day, and not surprisingly, production is very good, so there is even a surplus that is being used to charge the batteries that help us go through the night.
Of all men's miseries the bitterest is this: to know so much and to have control over nothing.
Rhulani Safari Lodge has completely disconnected from the state power, so there is no consumption registered of the "grid". Monitoring the system, identifying possible faults, and also possible optimizations are part of our daily tasks.
Stay tuned for the next episode on 11 August when our spa therapist Hloni shows us another of her great specialties: a hot stone massage.
