A new printer for the local primary school

- News, Community & Conservation

A small but important support project was realized in February this year thanks to the help of two of our guests. Two new photocopier and printer machines were delivered and installed in the local primary school in Supingstad.

Rhulani Safari Lodge is nestled in the wild, in the middle of the Madikwe Game Reserve. From us it is exactly 4.4 km on an earthen road to the park entrance and access to a main road, and from there it is another 8.5 km to the nearest village, Supingstad, where many of our employees come from.

We have a close working relationship with the primary school of rhe village, and so it was at the beginning of this year that we heard that help was urgently needed. The school's printer was no longer working reliably, and the school management could no longer print out important documents for the students.

This then became a great new project for us, where we managed to put the generous donation to good use, which was given at the end of last year by Rhulani's returning guests from Switzerland, Ms. Janine Meier and Mr. Thomas Schenkel.

In mid-February, two modern, brand new and multifunctional photocopier and printer machines were delivered and officially handed over by Rhulani’s manager Thomas-Hendrik Basson.

Mr. Moremedi, principal of the school, was very pleased :“We can get by for school lessons without using a lot of paper, but a printer is essential, for example, for conducting exams for all the kids”.

We are very grateful that we can keep writing beautiful stories that support the communities around us, are part of our sustainability efforts, and in which our valued guests are also a part. Ms. Meier, Mr. Schenkel, thank you very much!
